Institutional & Governance

We are proud of our deep roots in the coffee industry - our family has been producing coffee for 4 generations. Meanwhile, we developed our careers among financial markets and private companies. So we combine beginner's minds in the coffee industry and deep respect to our investors.

To create an impact and solve some of the inefficiencies from the coffee supply chain, we need to attract institutional investors. That creates the opportunity to work bottom up, from origin, to the consumer, providing transparency and bringing partners together.

So we developed a business plan based on building trust and attracting conscient and patient capital interested in real impact at fair returns.

During our conversations with stakeholders - mostly roasters, employees, creditors, suppliers and investors - we committed to provide transparency, stability and resilience. Here are some of the pillars to execute this plan:

  • The Blank Sheet Concept:

Even though our family produces coffee, Meiero was created from scratch, with no corporate legacy or liabilities.

As such, we had the chance to choose our partners and our culture. We chose to import only from Brazil, because that is where we have deep roots and execution power. And we chose to export to the Netherlands because it has a culture that we admire.

Indeed, we create a structure that provides transparency, scalability and attractiveness to our partners.

  • Corporate structure

Our founders are the main shareholders. The remaining shareholders are family and close friends that support our business plan through capital, discipline and wisdom.

This structure provides exposure to the highest levels of compliance at the EU and attractiveness to investors. This scalable structure permits our partner to become part of our equity structure, developing the deepest level of trust.

Meiero is positioned to attract investors interested in developing direct trade and verticalization of the coffee supply chain. Meanwhile, we are reducing risks to our financing partners.

  • Debt Policy

We have a policy of zero corporate debt.

Our main asset is the trust among collaborators, clients, suppliers and financing partners. We believe a solid capital structure is key to build that trust and reliability.

  • Hedge Policy

Our main goal is reliability - to always be in the game. As such, we are not exposed to hedge instruments that could trigger margin calls and affect our liquidity.

  • Transparency

We are fully committed to transparency in terms of corporate structure, management team and pricing strategy. We will be building in public.

We hope you trust this structure. It was built on pain and reflection. And it will be shared while being built.

Indeed, coffee is a relationship business.

Please, do not hesitate to contact us in case you have any demand or suggestion.

Regards,
